About Us

Our Philosophy

At Little Wild Early Learning Centre, we embrace a holistic approach to early childhood education, guided by principles that foster a nurturing, inclusive, warm and enriching environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially and intellectually. Our philosophy is grounded in the values of respect, inclusion and fun, reflecting the unique cultural context of Aotearoa. We aim to make every family feel like they belong and are supported. We strive to ensure that every child’s journey with us is filled with joy, wonder, and endless possibilities.

Manaakitanga- Respect and Kindness

We believe in respecting each child as an individual, recognising their unique strengths, interests, and abilities. We strive to create an atmosphere of mutual respect between tamariki, kaiako, whānau and hapori. (Children, teachers, families and our community).

Kaiako model respectful communication and positive relationships, creating a safe and secure environment for tamariki to express themselves freely. Through the integration of te reo Māori and other cultural elements, we aim to instil a profound respect for the rich diversity that defines Aotearoa.

 Whanaungatanga- Inclusion and relationships

We believe that every individual within our hapori- tamariki, whānau, and kaiako- should feel a profound sense of belonging. Through mutual respect, empathy and understanding, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, accepted, welcome, and supported.

We acknowledge and embrace the unique strengths and challenges that each child brings, working collaboratively with whānau to provide education and care that is supportive of each tamaiti.

Pārekareka- Fun and Playfulness

Fun is essential in our approach to early childhood education. Learning is at its most effective when it is enjoyable and engaging. We provide an environment that stimulates curiosity, creativity and exploration. Play is a fundamental part of tamariki exploration and development.

We provide provocations both indoors and out, that encourage tamariki to take risks, try new things, and learn through hands-on experiences. We aim to cultivate a passion for learning that extends beyond preschool and sets the stage for a life-long love of learning.
